You cannot extend a database residing on a raw partition. If you try to do so using a default extension size, % mupip extend DEFAULT, you will receive the message indicating that the extension size is zero, therefore the database was not extended.

If you try to extend a database and specify an extension size, % mupip extend DEFAULT -BLOCKS=10, you will receive a %GTM-E-DBFILERR, Error with database file, %SYSTEM-E-ENO5, I/O Error.
