RWAST (Resource Wait State) indicates that the process lacks some OpenVMS resource required to continue, and that it has resource waiting enabled. A process that exhibits this state for a significant period of time generally can only be recovered by a system reboot. If this problem occurs with any frequency, review the quotas and limits for users experiencing the problem. Consider turning off resource wait mode for the susceptible process(es) with the DCL command SET PROCESS /NORESOURCE_WAIT. Also, consider contacting Fidelity Information Services and/or HP to discuss the circumstances under which this occurs.
