JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (FIS) today announced the successful completion of a project to launch the online banking facility at Bank Leumi (UK) plc.  FIS has worked closely with the bank to install Internet banking software to support the bank’s online private and commercial banking operations.

Bank Leumi (UK) is a leading foreign-owned bank in London, offering a full range of banking facilities to both commercial customers and private clients.  With the completed implementation of the FIS Internet banking application, Bank Leumi (UK) has successfully launched its online facility, leumi online, to both private and corporate customers.

“This initiative was instigated to meet customer demand for an improved Internet service, and we are delighted that both our business and private clients can now access details of their accounts and portfolios and fully manage their finances over the Internet,” said Nigel Brigden, operations manager for Bank Leumi (UK). “We chose to collaborate with FIS because of its system’s breadth of functionality and superior security features and our supreme confidence in the FIS team’s ability to deliver to our requirements.”

With an ambitious set of requirements, the Bank Leumi team needed core cash management and money transmission facilities, as well as private banking and trade finance in an all-in-one solution.  Now fully integrated with the bank’s existing back-office systems, leumi online has been live and operational since April and is currently rolling out across every part of the business.

“The joint development team, comprising FIS experts and key bank staff, worked very closely together through the testing and implementation stages and, as a result, we have a system that is highly advanced, competitive within the market – and extremely customer-friendly,” said Nigel Brigden.

Bank Leumi UK is currently working with FIS to develop new services, including a trade finance module.  Also this year, the leumi online service will be available to clients of Bank Leumi (Jersey) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank Leumi UK that specialises in offshore banking services for both personal and corporate clients.

“We are extremely happy to play a part in the impressive leumi online service,” said Jane Painter, EMEA client services director at FIS. “Our solutions are proven to lead the market in flexibility, breadth and reliability, and we are delighted that leumi online is already helping the bank – and its customers – to grow their business.”
