Frank Sanchez
President, Strategic Solutions

Frank Sanchez

Frank R. Sanchez is the president of FIS' Strategic Solutions division. His responsibilities include ensuring that FIS consistently develops the strategic software, processing and integrated financial solutions that drive future growth and strengthen FIS' overall competitive position. In this role, Sanchez reports directly to the CEO, underscoring the importance FIS places on strategic development across multiple business units serving customers globally.

Prior to joining FIS in January 2004, Frank was the CEO of Sanchez Computer Associates, a public banking technology company that specialized in real-time banking and enterprise customer integration systems. Frank began his career at Sanchez in 1980 with responsibility for product architecture and engineering and subsequently accepted sales and marketing and executive management responsibilities. He was the chief designer and architect of one of the industry’s most successful core banking systems (Profile), which is installed in hundreds of financial institutions spanning 18 countries and continues to be a market-leading solution. In the mid-1990’s, he implemented the first Western banking system in central Europe, which subsequently became the dominant solution in that region. In the late 1990’s, he pioneered the launch of the first wave of Internet banks and offered the industry’s first Internet banking outsourcing. In 2001, he successfully deployed the industry’s first core banking system on a Linux platform. Throughout his career, Frank has provided numerous technical and business innovations to the financial services and IT industries.

Frank is the recipient of the 2007 Fox Information Technology Innovator Award from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management. In 2002, he was awarded the Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award. He served on the technical advisory board for high-performance systems at Digital Equipment from 1986 to 1991 and was a director of Transaction Systems Architects (NASDAQ: TSAI), from 2003 to 2005. In addition to those listed here, Frank has received numerous individual and corporate achievement awards.

Frank attended the University of Connecticut, where he studied astrophysics and finance.
